  12. Hi, I saw an unidentified flying object a couple of months back. I was
  13. wondering if any of you ufo enthusiats would find it at all
  14. interesting.  I am not convinced either way as to whether extra
  15. terrestrial life exists, and i have never seen a UFO before.

  17. I'm sorry I didn't record an exact time or date or anything like that,
  18. I didn't plan at the time on telling anyone about it! All I can say it
  19. was around 2AM in the morning and it was aproximately 2-3 months ago.

  21. What happened was this, I was standing by my open window looking out
  22. across the large school playing fields opposite my house smoking a
  23. cigarette( yes, it was a normal cigarrete!), as i usually do, before
  24. going to bed. It was quiet and there was no traffic or pedestrians
  25. apparent in my immediate vicinity.

  27. Any how what happened next was a movement in the corner of my eye
  28. attacted my attention. A luminous object moved rapidly from an area of
  29. sky high to my left proceeding to a point probably elevated some 30
  30. degrees above the horizon pretty much straight infront of me, but just
  31. slightly to the left side still. I then did not see any more of it, I
  32. did not see it reach the horizon, though my attention was distracted
  33. from it as i tried to see where the light could be coming from, trying
  34. to figure out if it was actually something in the air, or merely a
  35. reflection of some ground based off my window ( which opens out to my
  36. left and thus reflects things coming up the road to my right so as I
  37. can see them.)

  39. I came to the conclusion that it definately was an object in the air,
  40. as there was no apparent source for it to be a reflection, and
  41. besides, it definately didn't look like a reflection, it certainly
  42. seemed to be an airborne object. There was absolutely no sound that I
  43. could percieve to be connected with this light. And I observed it for
  44. probably slightly less than one second. It apeared to be moving very
  45. rapidly- though as I could only guess at the height above the ground i
  46. could not say how fast. It certainly seemed to move at least twice as
  47. fast as the tornado fighter planes that occasionally fly in my area at
  48. low altitude (~300ft to 1000ft) I live under a major flight path for
  49. civilian aircraft, but it is a high altitude path and planes usually
  50. take a minute or so to traverse the path this UFO took. (When I use
  51. the word UFO I mean exactly that, I could not identify it.)

  53.  No physical form was distinguishable but the light source was
  54. apparently about as wide as it was long, and occupied an apparent area
  55. that would be about one tenth of the apparent area of the full moon. I
  56. could not distinguish the exact geometry as the light was moving too
  57. fast.

  59. The light was blue centrally tending to green at the edges. I have
  60. experience with temperatures of up to 40 000 Kelvins, and would say
  61. that the light was not a thermal source (eg. like a filament lamp) as
  62. it was definately not  bright enough (the temperature corresponding to
  63. the colour of the UFO would be in the 20 000Kelvin range- equating to
  64. a luminosity some 350 to 400 times greater than the sun) else the
  65. object could have been immensly distant or the light diffused in some
  66. way. I would guess therefore that the light was probably due to an
  67. electronic transition spectrum (eg.like a low pressure Sodium light)
